Pickleball organized game play happens and Monday & Thursday nights. These include:
- Open Play/ Bucket Play
- This is the most versatile type of all play types but it can also be refined for specific goals. Players may arrive or leave at anytime during play. You will place your paddle "in a bucket" and will play with the "next four" players. There are many variations and we are always looking for new ones. This coming week for example we will have gender play (men play men, women play women) and then have mixed play (men/women teams). Other variations can include a) play by level b) play by age c) win/loss, etc.
- Lotto Pickleball
- This style of play is completely random and is a great way to get to know other players from the club. (we now have over 250 players this year and growing each week). Everyone is given a number and someone will then pick numbers from a bag. These players will then play a timed game and then we start all over. You will play many games and meet new friends.
- 3x3 Play
- In this interaction, we place 4 people on a court. You will play 3 timed games with and against each of the other players. You will keep your individual score and after 3 games the two highest scoring players will "move up" a court and the lowest scoring players will "move down" a court. After a few rounds you will likely end up playing games with players of your own level. This form of play requires precise numbers. It is dependent on court availability so if you sign up for this type of event please understand that your attendance is a must.
- King of the Court
- A variation of the 3x3, King of the Court is similar but court changes occur much faster. Players play a single timed game and then the winners move up and split and losers move down and split. Again this requires precise numbers and timing so if you sign up, attendance is crucial so that it goes off without a hitch.
- Play with a Pro
- This is a fun night for the Pro's. We will play with different groups each game
- (and give you some pointers along the way).
- Drill Night
- A few times over the summer we will pick a topic for the evening and you will do different drills to reinforce that skill. You will drill for 60-90 minutes then play some games to test out your new prowess
Inter-City Competition
- On Saturday afternoons, Sheridan Tennis & Pickleball Club with Mississauga Pickleball will field a team to compete with other pickleball clubs from other cities. When courts are not be used for competition, non team members practice their skills in open play.
- Participation in inter-city competition requires membership in Pickleball Ontario.
